Tropical Meteorology and hurricanes
I am interested in understanding the dynamical and thermodynamical mechanisms that favor the tropical cyclogenesis and the intensity changes in tropical cyclones. I have accomplish this goal using observations, global and regional simulations.
Mountain Meteorology
My interest is to understand the dynamics of local and regional circulations over mountain sites and the influence of these circulations on the transport and recirculations of pollution at those sites.
Weather forecasting at astronomical observatories
I have worked validating and improving the regional and global weather forecasts at astronomical observatories in the North of Chile using a number of tools: GFS and WRF forecasts, a Kalman filter, satellite data, insitu observations, etc.
